High Demand College Courses in Health Sector

SIAST (Saskatchewan)
Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology
Cytotechnology
Dental Hygiene
Medical Laboratory Technology
Medical Radiologic Technology
Practical Nursing

SIAST requires Grade 12 with a minimum overall average of 70% in English Language Arts A30, English Language Arts B30, Biology 30, and one of Chemistry 30 or Physics 30. Any applications that do not have a 70% average will not be considered for admission to the program.

SAIT (Calgary, AB)
Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Medical Radiologic Technology
Nuclear Medicine Technology
Medical Laboratory Assistant
Medical Laboratory Technology
Dental Assisting

SAIT requires High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 60% in each of the following courses or their equivalents: English Language Arts 30-1, Pure Math 30 or Math 31, Chemistry 30 and either Biology 30 or Physics 30; plus one option of the following: Math 31, Language 30, Physics 30, Biology 30, Social Studies 30 or Science 30. Any applications that do not have a 60% average will not be considered for admission to the program.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Medical Laboratory Science
Medical Radiography Technology
Nursing
Prosthetics and Orthotics

BCIT requires High school graduation or equivalent, English 12 (B) or English-language proficiency, Principles of Math 12 (C+) or Academic Math 12 (C+), Chemistry 12 (C+), Physics 11 (C+), Biology 12 (C+),
Physics 12 is strongly recommended.
